Stop the Clocks

Oasis have today announced via their very handy email newsletter that they are releasing a best-of titled Stop the Clocks. Apparently it will be the bands "ultimate set list" and will feature songs from all albums including "the best b-side ever" (if they say so themselves) Acquiese and also Half the World Away (which I would argue is better!) plus all their major singles.

This is apparently a stop-gap between the end of their Don't Believe the Truth tour and beginning the next studio album. Often best-of's are a sign that the end is nigh, but I hope not - Don't Believe the Truth is easily their best album since What's the Story and while its good to go out on a high, I think the lads still have another couple of great albums in them. Fingers crossed!

PS, in the handy email there wasn't a release date so I assume this is out now?

It is being released in November.

Also have no fear that the end is close. Many bands have had "best of's" only to carry on with great albums. Look at the Chili's and U2!1
